Freshersâ Week was a great success for the Campus Heroes! As an initiative dedicated to raising awareness about stem cell donation, we were highly visible on campus and beyond throughout the week. Our goal was to inform first-year students, raise awareness, and motivate them to register as stem cell donors.
Our achievements at a glance
- 69 new stem cell donors registered
- 7 events actively supported by our team
- 5 student councils/departments where we introduced our initiative
- Over 13 hours of direct event participation
- More than 200 flyers and lots of cool merch (stickers, pens & more) distributed
- Over 1,400 welcome bags for first-year students filled with our stickers
Our activities during the week
We kicked things off with several Freshersâ Breakfasts across different fields of study, including Medicine, Teacher Education, Dentistry, Psychology, and Nursing Sciences. In a relaxed atmosphere, we had many great conversations with students, answered questions about stem cell donation, and enabled on-the-spot registrations. Our work was supported by informative materials, a prize wheel, cookies, and our eye-catching Campus Heroes stand.
At the Market der Möglichkeiten in the Beitz-Mensa, we were present for several hours and reached numerous interested students. We also introduced our initiative at student council presentations, for example in Law, and raised awareness about the importance of stem cell donation.
A special highlight was the city rally at the Museum Harbour, where we drew attention to the topic through creative activities, great energy, and strong visibility.

This week would not have been possible without the incredible commitment of our dedicated volunteers. Thanks to you, we were able to reach, inform, and motivate so many people. Every registration counts â and can save lives.
