When Christmas Saves Lives: 96 New Stem Cell Donors

Under the motto “Give Christmas the Chance to Save a Life”, an incredible 96 students registered as stem cell donors this year, showing that the true spirit of Christmas lies in giving, compassion, and helping others. Every single registration represents hope – and could one day mean a second chance at life for someone affected by blood cancer.

During the midday hours, the Beitzplatz cafeteria was filled with a special sense of warmth and togetherness. Soft Christmas music, the smell of freshly baked cookies, and small gifts created a festive atmosphere that invited students to pause between lectures and daily routines. Many took the time to learn more about stem cell donation, ask questions, and make a conscious decision to help.

This campaign made it clear what Christmas is truly about: standing together, taking responsibility, and sharing hope. The 96 new stem cell donors have shown that even a small step can make a huge difference – and may be exactly the miracle someone is waiting for. 🎄🫶🩸
