Small Study Break, Big Impact
To give the summer semester a fitting send-off and support our fellow students with some extra motivation during the final stretch of exam preparation, we were delighted to take part in the “Long Night of Studying” at the Beitz Library for the very first time. At our stand near the entrance, students from a wide range of degree programs not only took the opportunity to register as potential stem cell donors, but also joined us for many interesting conversations during their well-deserved study breaks. We talked about the different ways to donate, contact between donors and recipients, and much more. We were especially excited to learn that the majority of students were already registered as stem cell donors — many of them through Campus Heroes registration drives over the past two years. Dies Academicus – Courtyard Festival in Beautiful Sunshine
At the end of June, we had another wonderful event to look forward to: Dies Academicus, a courtyard festival at Ernst-Lohmeyer-Platz where a wide variety of clubs, groups, and initiatives had the chance to connect with students, accompanied by live music from the University of Greifswald Orchestra. Together with Blood Donation Greifswald, we shared a stand and had many great conversations, registered new potential stem cell donors, and enjoyed the festival in beautiful summer weather. We’re already looking forward to next year!
A Successful Start to the New Semester and 2 Years of Campus Heroes!
At the end of April, we gathered for our kick-off meeting to celebrate a fantastic start to the upcoming semester. In a relaxed atmosphere with pizza and a colorful selection of snacks and sweets, we chatted about our upcoming events for this semester. We were especially thrilled to welcome three new Campus Heroes to our team. A warm welcome to them—we look forward to exciting events and lots of fresh ideas! Another reason to celebrate was our 2nd anniversary. For two years now, we have been dedicated to our mission as Campus Heroes, looking back with pride on numerous successful campaigns, valuable experiences, and a steadily growing team. To mark this special milestone, a delicious anniversary cake was, of course, an absolute must. We are incredibly excited to turn many more of you into potential stem cell donors this semester.
